Resistance of the poppies

Inspired by the poignant verse, *“As long as there are poppies, one must live on”* by Sohrab Sepehri, and echoed in Lady Bird Johnson’s words, *“Where flowers bloom, so does hope,”* this piece is a meditation on resilience, renewal, and the enduring cycle of life.

Delicate 3D resin poppies rise from a core of animal bones, their vibrant forms a striking contrast to the remnants of what once was. The bones, symbols of mortality and the past, become the foundation for new growth—each bloom a testament to love, hope, and the unyielding persistence of life.

Mounted on a raw wood base, the piece bridges the organic and the crafted, inviting reflection on beauty born from fragility, and light emerging from darkness. Through this juxtaposition, the work whispers: even in the face of loss, life finds a way to flourish.
